Cultivar Cartagena is a 501(c)(3)/NGO Charity organization

We are on a mission to provide essential support, empower, educate, and cultivate lasting positive change in the marginalized communities of Cartagena, Colombia.

We are committed to addressing the immediate needs of individuals and families who lack access to essential resources, including food and clothing, while also working to provide them with the skills, tools, and opportunities to build a better future.

Research shows it takes an average of 11 generations for those living in poverty in Colombia to break free and reach the country’s average income.

We want to support Cartageneros to give them the opportunities needed to break the cycle of poverty and cultivate a sustainable and thriving economy.

We believe that:

It's only when the most basic of needs are met that change can happen. This is why we aim to alleviate hunger, create food security, and provide essential support to marginalized communities through weekly grocery delivery and clothing provision.

Education is a crucial pathway out of poverty.

We have provided English lessons to hundreds of children over these years, and are now beginning music lessons.

We also look forward to offering more educational opportunities in the future in addition to English- financial literacy, urban gardening and entrepreneurship.

Through our work, we aim to achieve the following:

Prioritize safety and food security by ensuring that all residents of Cartagena have access to basic necessities like food, water, and clothing.

Increase educational opportunities, particularly for girls and women, to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed for better job opportunities and financial stability.

Create job opportunities within our organization and stimulate economic growth within the community.

Empower individuals to support themselves through urban farming and skill development.

Promote a sense of community and culture that supports a thriving Cartagena.

Our long-term vision is to cultivate food, education, culture, and autonomy for individuals and families in Cartagena while fostering a sustainable and thriving economy.

Every dollar donated goes DIRECTLY to supporting those in Cartagena who need it most.
And, with an ambitious goal of eventually raising $875,000 to buy land and establish a small farm, retreat, and education center (which will create employment opportunities and empower the community), we can use all the support we can get!
